About

We combine quality educational guardianship with top-notch customer service. The result? Happy families.

Who we are?

Founded in 2009 by Susan Fang, UKG offers unique and tailored services in all aspects of student guardianship and independent education. Having benefited from a first-rate education in the UK, she wants to ensure all students have a safe and enjoyable time in the UK while reaching their full academic potential.

Studying abroad is a very important and life-changing decision, and it can take time for students to feel comfortable in their new surroundings. We develop strong, high-trust relationships with students in our care to help them gain the most out of their experience in the UK. Our guardianship services are curated by a team of experts who were themselves international students and now parents, so UKG knows exactly what our clients feel and is fully committed to making studying abroad the best possible experience.

Why we’re different

Our UKG business philosophy is based on the five pillars of empathy, integrity, reliability, the pursuit of excellence and the principle of paying it forward.

Empathy

Our team are all parents, and we’ve all been international students. We understand exactly how parents feel when sending their children thousands of miles away. We’ll resolve your concerns, listen to your questions and support your children as they experience British culture.

Integrity

We believe in providing the best possible service for our clients. When it involves children, you cannot sell them short. Our packages focus on quality and ensuring our students are safe, whether at school or one of our homestays.

Reliability

We understand that your children are in a foreign country, and you need someone to be there for them when they need help. Our team is available 24/7 and on call for emergencies, school meetings or just when they feel homesick and need to talk to someone. We know how important it is to have somebody show up and be available for the big or little things.

Pursuit of Excellence

We know that both the student and family make a lot of sacrifices in the pursuit of excellence and are looking for the best experience possible. We help families define what excellence means to them, and we help them get there. We want every child to reach their full potential.

Paying it Forward

We aim to nurture children to become good people, to be grateful for the opportunities they enjoy, and to give back to the community to help others less fortunate.

Founders Story

In 2009, Susan Fang came to London from Taipei with her two daughters, aged 4 and 5. She realised how lucky they were to have their mother with them to enrol them into great schools and that most international families don’t have that luxury. She arrived in the UK at 14 and remembered how difficult it was not knowing much English, being bullied in the playground, and having no one to advocate for her as her parents didn’t speak English. Using her initiative, Susan successfully applied for and took entrance tests to get into North London Collegiate School for sixth form and later at Cambridge University. Following her experience, Susan was inspired and wanted to expand her love and be a mother to the many international students whose parents were so far away. UKG was born!

The purpose of UKG is to be the advocate for international students, which Susan never had, and to open doors for them that they may not have found on their own. We envisage success for our students and love it when they return years later with their married partners and kids, looking to renew our relationship for the next generation of UKG students.

UKG founder Susan Fang and a few students went to Warner Bros. Studio in London and were surprised to meet the very talented, Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne and co-star Dan Fogler. We were all very jealous in the UKG office!
